Nichrome cables and power limiting heating cables are designed especially for process temperature maintenance or freeze protection where high maintained temperatures or high temperature exposure is required, such as pipe heat tracing in industrial applications.
A coiled resistor alloy heating element wrapped around two parallel bus wires, provides the power limiting features, the positive temperature coefficient characteristic decreases the cable's power output as the heat-traced product temperature increases and allows the cable to be overlapped during installation. Our winding machine is specially designed for the resistor alloy heating element winding and wrapping on the two parallel bus wires.
